ALBAY

Albay's mountainous terrain has gifted the province with extensive cave networks with tunazing stalactite and rock formations which will delight spelunkers and adventure-seekers.

The most frequented is Hoyop-hoyopan Cave in Camalig, a habitat of early Bicotano natives. The cave literally means "eternal whispering breeze"- the sound heard while exploring it.

Near Hoyop-hoyopan is Calabidongan Caves which can be reached by passing through brooks and narrow passageways. The most exciting portion is an entrance called the "lizard's gate" where one has to swim across a seven foot long lagoon.

Spelunkers face a difficult challenge in Pototan Cave in Liguan island and Cagraray Caves with their extensive chambers and awesome stalactite formations
