Tabaco is one of the seventeen municipalitiesin the province of Albay. Classified as a third class municipality with a population of 85,697 and a land area of 12,210.4 hectares. It is located on the eastern coast of Albay Province, which is in turn located at the center of Bicol Region. The municipality is bounded on the north by the municipality of Malinao , on the south by the municipality of Malilipot, on the west by the municipalities of Ligao and Polangui and on the east by Lagonoy Gulf. It has 47 barangays, 5 in San Miguel Islands and 42 in the mainland.
